Participation of Industrial Management Studio Assistants Delegations in INDISCO 9

On October 27th-29th, 2017, three active assistants of Industrial Management Studio batch 2014, which are Aisyah Rahmayanti, Anggini Pangestu, and Nadifa Ramadani participated in INDISCO 9 (Industrial Design Seminar And Competition) held by Himpunan Mahasiswa Teknik Industri (HMTI) Diponegoro University, Semarang as one of the teams in Top 20.

INDISCO 9 adapted the theme of Experience Design (XD) which is a type of design that prioritizes the quality of the user experience. This competition aims to provide a means of applying the knowledge of Industrial Engineering and to encourage students’ ability in designing household products based on Experience Design (XD) that are competitive in the market, unique, and able to create memorable moments for the consumers. In addition, the competition also aims to provide a platform for participants that come from Indonesia and countries in Southeast Asia and surroundings to interact and exchange knowledge.

The INDISCO 9 registration process began by collecting the design proposal which is then filtered into the Top 20 Teams. Top 20 Teams has to create a video that explains the product details and a prototype of the product, then presented the product in front of the judges in Semarang. The results of the presentation were then used as a base to pick the Top 5 Teams. But the Industrial Management Studio team did not proceed to the Top 5 Teams presentation stage.

In addition to participating in the product design competition, the participants also attended the National Seminar entitled Experience Design for Well-Being and a Better Life. The National Seminar is filled by Ellya Zulaikha ST., M.Sn., Ph.D. (Head of Product Design Study Program of Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember) who is also one of the judges of INDISCO 9, Frangky Purnomo Angelo (Associate Marketing Director of Midea Electronics Indonesia), and Dr. Andry Masri, ST., M.Sn. (Secretary General of Aliansi Desain Produk Industri Indonesia).
